Ministry of Space

My favorite comic writer is Warren Ellis. That is not anything new, but this is:

What if the premiere space program in the world after WWII came out of Great Britain?

I’m up fairly late tonight because I don’t work tomorrow. Instead of simply thanking Mr. King for giving me a holiday, I’ll thank him for changing the world and making it possible for me to live the life that I am living. I’m a Vietnamese kid that grew up in South Central Los Angeles blabbing about some British writer on the internet. It’s a good day to regroup and get some perspective sometimes. I normally take holidays for granted, but this is one worth meditating on for a little bit.
Hell, I grew up on Martin Luther King Blvd here in L.A. Maybe I’ll go back and watch a parade.
[Note: Despite rumours, MLK Blvd is not the most violent street in Los Angeles.]
