supa dupa bowl
January 27, 2001
I wish I had more time to blog this week, because there was tons of stuff I read this week that was cool. This weekend, the only thing of note is the Super Bowl. Apparently, CBS will unveil “Matrix-like” instant replays. Neat. I hope it’s interesting.
Hopefully there will be a 3-D rotating freeze frame of a Trent Dilfer touchdown on Sunday. I’m pulling big for the Ravens. I think it will be good game for those that are into the game. More casual fans will probably be turned off by it, but the most interesting things thing about this game will probably be the coaching maneuvers on boths sides of the ball. Should be fun.
Other things that I wanted to blog:
–
Ghost World, a new movie based on Dan Clowes’ comic is coming out, directed by Terry Zwigoff (of Crumb fame). Spidey, Hulk, etc… I can see. Ghost World is something completely different. Not as bizarre as Clowes’ Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, but still pretty weird, and very much an underground book.
–
Man reinacts Evil Dead II by sawing off his hand and then proceeds to shoot himself repeatedly in the head with a nail gun to put himself out of his misery. Ouch.
Crueler people than I will now mention the Darwin Awards, but I just feel bad for the guy. That’s not stupidity eliminating him from the genepool, it’s pure dumb luck leading to shock and hysteria.

I got a new Palm IIIxe to replace my busted one. Reunited with my pager and cell phone on my belt, I’ve back up to full strength on the geek belt.
I don’t normally tuck my shirt in, so it doesn’t look that bad. That said, I still want one of these E-Holster things to stick everything in. Either that or a purse.
