Voice of God

By far the best feature on Salon.com is “Brilliant Careers,” where they feature greats from different arenas. I was rummaging through the archives and found this: Vin Scully’s call of Sandy Koufax’s perfect game on September 9th, 1965. Pure poetry, and a testament to his genius in a field filled with hacks.
I feel sorry for baseball fans who weren’t able to grow up with Vin Scully. I don’t think I would’ve been a baseball fan at all if it weren’t for him.
