Le Tigre rocks it, shakes it and just generally lays waste to all the other rock shows I’ve seen this year.

I’ve been a big fan of of Le Tigre since their brilliant first album, but nothing prepared me for just how good the live show is. Take propulsive vintage beats (think early 80′s new wave and hip-hop drum machines) support tons of good ole fashioned loud guitars and melodic wailing (think… uh, well, think of Kathleen Hanna’s previous work in the seminal Bikini Kill); combine it with a little coordinated dancing, sing-song lyrics and you have a huge party of a rock show. While each song delivers a heavy message, Le Tigre never feels like a downer band. Their songs are anthems of survival, upheaval and inspiration. Political without necessarily being preachy, Le Tigre offers a feminist/queer revolution you can dance to.
