There’s not a whole lot going on this weekend, but I did notice that the Henry Fonda Theater was playing host to this year’s Smiths/Morrissey Convention. What’s that, you ask…

Well, it’s just what it sounds like. It’s a show where there are couple of Moz cover bands playing while tons of vendors sell Moz/Smiths gear. Pretty standard stuff, but one of the great phenomenons of SoCal is that the majority of Morrissey fans are actually Latino. It’s no big secret, but I’ve never heard anyone have a legit explanation of how. Here’s a few older writeups I dug up about the topic:

Like I said, old news, but with Morrissey’s comeback this year, I’d imagine the convention is wilder than ever now.
