Have a Gold Watch, TiVo

Alongside my dead XBox360, I also finally retired my TiVo. Now, my TiVo didn’t die, I just replaced it with an hi-def unit from Dish Network. In contrast to my virtually disposable 360, which lasted about eight months, my TiVo is still cranking along after seven years. It’s a 30 hour unit I won in the great TiVo essay giveaway of 2000 and except for a couple of sad weeks with a broken remote, it served well, recording the sublime and the ridiculous with equal aplomb.
